Daddy Issues is a comedy television series about a 24-year-old Gemma, who discovers that she is pregnant after a one-night stand and has no other option but to seek support from her crisis-stricken father, Malcolm, and move in together. Having always seen David Morrissey in serious roles, it was fabulous to see him excel in a funny role in a daft character! He is incredible. The plot is eccentric and at times stupid but is a hilarious ride. I had a great time watching this. AVAILABLE ON BBC THREE & T.

Absolution is an action crime drama film about an ageing Boston gangster who tries to reconnect with his family and fix the mistakes from the past, but his criminal life soon threatens to destroy everything he holds dear. Liam Neeson till packs a punch, even at 72 years of age and carries this film entirely on his able shoulders. He is literally in every scene! I won't call it an out an out Neeson style one-man-army genre film, even when he shows his elements from time to time. This film has a lot more depth and brings out his emotions. I found it to be a decent one time watch and recommend it to every Neeson fan. My rating 3/5. AVAILABLE ON T.

Love Rat is a British crime-drama-thriller Series about a recently divorced woman who enjoys a whirlwind romance with a charming hotel proprietor on Cyprus when she discovers he is not who he seems, embarking on a dangerous mission to get her money back. With just 4 episodes, it was an interesting watch with decent acting from the leads. I just hope that they had shown more of the drop-dead-gorgeous country Cyprus, which we visited in 2013 and found it mesmerising! I had a good time watching this. AVAILABLE ON T.

The Bay is a British crime drama police procedural series. Having watched and thoroughly enjoyed the earlier 4 seasons, I was super excited about Season 5 and it was an excellent one. The series has never let its guard down! Credit goes to the entire team. S05 is about a murder investigation of a young girl by the team of detectives. The methodical approach of the Director shines all the way through and it was super interesting to see how the team finally catch the murder accused. I had a great time once again and hope S06 would be back with another bang.

Paris Has Fallen is a crime thriller series focussing on a French protection officer and an MI6 operative, who team up after a terrorist attack. Realising there might be a mole in the secret services, the duo race to take down their dangerous enemy and thwart a larger conspiracy threatening Paris. The series is teeming with gaping loopholes in the plot. They are ridiculous and one feels, committing a crime of that level is so damn easy! One can get away with anything. With 8 episodes, it was a drag at times going on and on about Police unable to catch the mastermind even after coming so close. This series could have ended in 3/4 episodes so easily. Yet I stuck on and finished it. How brave of me! Afterall, I didn't want Paris to fall you see. Watch it at your own risk. I have warned you enough. AVAILABLE ON AMAZON PRIME.

The Catch is a British four-part crime drama series about a fisherman who is wary when his daughter brings home a mysterious new boyfriend and after he starts digging into the young man's background, he is targeted with a series of threats stemming from his own shady past. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. With just 4 episodes, this was a breezy and decent one-time watch. I had a good time watching this. AVAILABLE ON T.

The Moorside is a two-part British television drama series based on the 2008 disappearance of 9-year-old Shannon Matthews and the successful search for her by police and volunteers in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, along with the revelation of mother Karen's involvement in Shannon's kidnapping. A superbly made drama series about a crime which shook the entire British nation and one which ended with a huge shocker! With just 2 episodes, this impactful series packs quite a punch in depicting this real life crime. Do watch this if you enjoy this genre. AVAILABLE ON T and AMAZON UK.

Nocebo is a Filipino-Irish psychological thriller film about a fashion designer who suffers from a mysterious illness that confounds her doctors and frustrates her husband. Help arrives in the form of a Filipino nanny who uses traditional folk healing to reveal a horrifying truth. This is a decent one-time watch, a twisty thriller with a smart and fresh story. TIt also featured a a satisfying social commentary and makes it an enjoyable watch. I recommend it to all Thriller genre fans. My rating 3/5.

Afwaah is a drama film written and directed by Sudhir Mishra. It deals with the issue of politics and how fake news is shaping the human behaviour and response these days. A very realistic and believable tale told in quite simple terms. Yes, there were some gaping holes in the film but still it worked for me. Both Bhumi Pednekar and Sumeet Vyas have done a good job and they kept it simple. Nawazuddin Siddiqui was clearly a misfit for the role! Sharib Hashmi proved his mettle once again and thankfully got the Rajasthani rustic accent right. All in all, it is a decent one-time watch which could have been much better but still deserves our time. My rating 3/5. AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX.

Coma is a British crime drama series about a man named Simon who when stressed by financial woes and local thugs, loses control when a teen named Jordan threatens him and his family. Things take an ugly turn in a moment of madness and everything turns topsy turvy! Throughout the series, the tension was palpable and things move at a frantic pace. The elements of thrill, tension and crime are portrayed brilliantly. I thoroughly enjoyed all the acting performances. I had a good time watching this and recommend it to everyone.
