No! No! No! No! Having just finished watching Outlander, which stayed faithful to the books, A Discovery of Witches was obviously hijacked by screenwriters who did not respect or enjoy the source material. The acting is fine, the casting is 50/50, but the script changes way too much. For example, Marcus is a British brunette who cannot sire vampires, Gillian. Is a FRIEND of Diana!. Satu, Juliet, Sophie, Agatha, and the Congregation are introduced too early and given different stories/timelines. Ysabeau is old and is not dressed as described in the books. I could go on, but it isn’t worth my time. I am so disappointed. I cannot believe so many people gave this good reviews.
