Tango Salsa

I dont like political drama but a terrific artist attempting a maestro performance was worth going for. The film affected me so deeply that I had to write this review just after coming out of theatres and sitting in cab. Damn, what a brilliant and nuanced narrative on Indian politics. Propagandists will always find ways to demean the film, but its Indian Cinema's loss if such films don't get their due. The narrative is very relatable and not dependent on political bias. It just shows a politically ambitious woman who wants to shine and do well for her country, but through hardships she realises it isn't that easy. Her coming of age to an authoritarian dictator is marvellous. Anupam, Shreyas, Vishakh, Mahima are excellent in their parts. Kangana is just magical. It certainly isnt a trained art to get possessed by a character. You dont see her acting good, you just see Indira Gandhi reliving herself on screen. She has rocked her scenes with Sanjay Gandhi, latter's death and her own assassinations. Whatever the reasons be, Bollywood needs to take her back to elevant their own standards, her talent is a national treasure. More so coz this is a rare time a female director came with a theatrical release, added with such a controversial subject and such a massive scale

Plain, blandly acted and badly executed screenplay. Hirani should acquire his niche back, Sanju & Dunki arent his genre

Taapsee needs to work more on versatility. Just mugging up script and uttering dialogues isnt enough, an actor needs to imbibe the character into his own personality.

I have seen the movie and its absolutely brilliant. There is a lot u r missing if not going for this one. U cant expect flying cars & twists in a real life biopic to keep u entertained. That will be sensationalised fake like we had in Sanju, Haseena Parker and to an extent Bhag Milkha Bhag also. This biopic r usually a collage of all the real life anecdotes from a woman's perspective conjoined to give a flow. This movie is the best and most realistic biopic produced in a long time. The depiction of Jayalalitha from a naive teen, to a woman in love, to an aged woman retired from work and hating politics, to a passionate leader and finally to a ruthless matriarch in vengeance after facing public humiliation. this movie is a best coming of age portrayal in Bollywood ever

Its a Kangana show all the way. Many actors act naturally but there is something supernatural about Kangana's performances. U tend to feel bad for Bobby inspite of knowing she is troubling everyone around. U feel like hugging and comforting her. Thats the power of an actor. For Bobby she portrayed so many emotions simultaneously viz Bobby was cute, obnoxious, confused, annoying, innocent, naive, skeptical, funny etc

I will be ashamed even if i watch this rubbish,let alone liking it

The best movie which came since a long time. No unnecessary preaching or forced emotion, just a slice of life drama which will touch u deep within because its taken from our common lives. Kangana is a true rockstar
