Dear Sam,
Upon reading your review, we couldn’t help but feel a similar passion for Chicken Little which is surprising because neither of us have ever seen this movie. Truthfully, we found ourselves on a lovely Thursday evening sitting down to enjoy the cinematography genius film that is Chicken Little because of the debate what came first—the chicken or the egg? Obviously, we discovered so much more upon watching this film.
You were so right Sam...it was definitely a coming of age film that focused on a severed father/son relationship. Clearly, Chicken Little wanted his shameful but ultimately protective father to show him some love and sentiment, and at the end of the day, his faith in home. All Chicken Little wanted was his father’s love and approval. Even though his mom died, this wasn’t about her. This, this anthem of self respect, is about Chicken Little speaking his truth, no matter the consequence.
What we feel was not executed as well as it could’ve been was the overall plot of the film. The takeaways were crystal clear. However, the execution of the story’s pace was poor. We went from exposition to climax real quick. It’s like going from go karting on an indoor track to racing in the Indy 500. It was just...rushed. Then again, when we look back, wouldn’t you move fast if your world was being taken over by alien? So, I suppose we understand. We simply had to lament the pace because the emotional toll was all too fast. But don’t we say that about all good things? They go too fast, or must come to end, or something like that.
You’re right though...that soundtrack was a BANGER.

P.s. Chicken came first.
