There are so many movies I can think of that make the long lost sibling/parent thing seem simple, and this is one of them. However, this story doesn't have to be fantastical at all to be this good, it just is simple, and that made it good to me. I understood his being leary, and her being so hurt. I understood how a mom can be so selfish, but really being protective at all costs. It is a great story, and the end ties it all together in a way I didn't see at all coming! Dad didn't choose in the end, he did what he could to be where he couldn't be. I really liked it, I like the actors, they were great and yes tears will flow. I give it a 5 because you can tell a simple story well, and it will be good enough. Can a movie just tell a great story without a big bam bang pow? Can we just have a happy ending as well? YES, thank you!

Will I ever get to see a movie that understands that accuracy makes ANY plot believable and interesting. We are past accepting that characters in a dilemma do the stupidest things. So without power, there's NO running water. no hand pump was shown, so right away I am floored that today we can't just make it real. Plus, in real life here, the stupid chain saw accidents are common. There is a STOP bar, the trigger stops it too. I expected to see it kicked back to the head, then ok, he dies. Again, simple but dumb imo. Lastly, if I see ONE more rape scene like this I will scream. Not all women scream and wither away as if hit by a car, lay there anguishing as if beaten to a pulp over 3 minutes of unwanted sex. I am going to grab the axe and use his pieces for bear bait, but no, he gets up, she lays there like she is dead.. so he can steal the car, gas and drive away. One more movie that shows us as weak senseless idiots that crumble up and die of the horrors a man puts on us poor little things. The worst part of the movie is what could have been the strongest. We have 2 great actors here and a pretty good premise. So I was hopeful, maybe realistic but sensical too, not the usual we are dumb, lets drink and dance and fight over chocolate. OH thanks for the ending that gives us no idea of anything, I just love that these days, one more what the hell happened ending. Lastly, there is no water!!

I am surprised the bad reviews. I just stumbled on this movie so I know it's not new...But I had to write because I really was drawn into this and ran with it all with not a problem. It was easy to see they were jumping through time, it wasn't that hard to see, and that's how a movie is sometimes, they want to draw you in, show you some stuff, then bring it all together at the end.. it is not a new concept. Ryan Renolds is really amazing, super actor in this story. It's a horrifying story, one we can NEVER imagine happening to us, you leave to run into a store, the kid gets taken, it was awful. I liked it, it was about a dad, who wasn't going to give up, i get it.

Well after reading some reviews I realize I was MORE tortured then most who tried to watch it. For some reason, I recorded a version that had NO subtitles. I literally sat through this dumbfounded. I couldn't take it. The almost comical twirling and constant "we are in love" acts were too much. We get it, you like each other, stop it, she is relentlessly kissing grabbing touching twirling all over him it's like she lives in a ballet, all the time, acting out this nutty ballet. Who walks outside all day every day twirling laughing hugging kissing all over the place? I fast forwarded though it over and over stopping when I thought there may be a story, nope, just more creepy music and twirling feet kissing yelling, don't you like me flirty twirling girl?
