This is by far the best Bird Guide for Australian birds. It includes excellent illustrations and descriptions of male, female, some subspecies and juveniles.
The Revised Version corrects almost all the small number of errors in the original, is well bound and well printed.
The Guide is a bit too big to be used in the field and a phone app is better for that, but upon return to base it is THE reference when reviewing what was seen.
It is up to date to about 2015 but of course the world of bird taxonomy has not stood still, and more recent changes, splits and lumps are not included. How could they be?
