I am not from a country that has had even one school shooting I think (New Zealand) but this short film really made me feel a lot of powerful emotions. It made me realise the sheer horror that parents and children go through when a school shooting occurs and I think it was such a powerful way to share that message. I cannot even begin to imagine what the parents of the children would go through. I’m in high school right now, and I feel truely sorry for the kids my age that go to school every day fearing for their lives. I also read some of the one star reviews, one even said they didn’t flinch through the whole film. I on the other hand bawled my eyes out for 12 minutes straight. While some people have been arguing that it was insensitive to bring up the grief and trauma parents of school shootings, it was actually the ultimate empathiser. To try and make other people understand what those people have been going through, because most people have no idea.
