I’ll open by saying, I wasn’t a hardcore Doja Cat listener. However, I love listening new albums when they are released. About 10 seconds into “Woman” I was hooked. “Payday” and “I Don’t Do Drugs” are subtle and relaxing. “Up and Down” really shows off the impeccable talent Doja Cat possess. All the songs off this album are enjoyable listens. The beats on this album are simple but have a way of trapping you in. The instrumentals alone are clear, concise, and phenomenally layered. The lyrics are fantastic…they can be hilarious, apologetic, energetic, complex, simple, etc. Overall, this album can turn anyone into a Doja Cat fan. This album is stylized but also messy. It’s fine-tuned, but also chaotic. It’s simple, but also so complex. It doesn’t matter if you are a Doja Cat fan or not, “Planet Her” deserves your undivided attention.
