Ash Kirkland

This look piqued my interest as some of the names are reminiscent of Tolkien. However, I personally couldn't get behind the writing style. In my opinion it's written like a YA novel for a very young audience, yet contains adult themes. The character development is also lacking for my taste. We are told about the characters more than we are experiencing them. Sadly I found it too cheesy and couldn't keep reading. This author has a lot of potential and I'll read some of her newer works to see if her writing style grows!
