While it's downplayed as a lackluster book (in comparison with Murakami's other works) it is a great read in my own opinion. It is a fan-favorite of mine and read it regularly.
Each part of the story; from beginning to end was captivating, I remember a few years ago when I recently purchased the book I didn't put it down for an entire day - it was that good.
I enjoyed it, and am a firm believer that Haruki Murakami cannot create a terrible book no matter how hard he tries.
