It was entertaining to watch, but the 4 hour run time truly did little to add depth to each character. The pacing was incredibly slow, with every scene feeling like it was dragging on for too long for no real reason. Cinematography was for the most part excellent. Not necessarily the orchestral score, but other music selected for certain scenes were very overdramatic and distracted from the quality of the scenes. Particularly, the somber, vocal heavy music really took you out of the moment and slammed overly agonizing lyrics down your throat. All in all, I appreciate this film for its true-to-vision execution, however it really does not tell a particularly fascinating story and does not do the characters much justice. Oh the irony...
