This movie was realistic and moving. As one who understands what it (was) like to suffer from existential depression, this boy's character nailed it. Existential depression is not a linear or rational feeling.. to me, it was a general feeling that life is too hard, that there are too many balls to juggle just to maintain a life: job house car food money taxes insurance for car health etc. the rat race consciousness weighs VERY heavy on sensitive people. I still cannot stand the pace of this world and all of those hoops we have to jump through. Although I’ve gotten good at jumping and I have built a very good life for me and my daughter. But I’m never 100% out of the woods w this kind of depression. It does take monitoring my thoughts and being careful with my inner dialogue. My wish is that if people see this important film, that if they are frustrated by it: good. It’s frustrating for anyone to suffer from a general inexplicable depression, and frustrating for those around them too. Please seek help if you need to.
