This movie is incredible and inspiring, bringing important historical events into life for the new generations. But, it is lacking a major aspect to the story and that is Islam. There is no direct reference to Islam, Prophet Muhammad, the Quran, or any of it at all which baffles me. It was because of Islam that Bilal was able to gain freedom. Where is the major speech by prophet Muhammad pbuh that all men are equal?? Why does Bilal not actually say the azan (call to prayer)?? All of these major aspects of Islam that fought for equality and justice and saved so many from wrongful prosecution is completely missing! What a shame and loss for such a beautiful animation. As a Muslim, I enjoyed it because I could fill in the blanks with the facts. But how much better it would have been to reveal the truth of this beautiful story. I would have loved the world to know.

I rarely ever leave a negative review, but here is an honest one. I went in thinking 'because it's Jane Austen, it has to be good'. Plus, the trailer looked so good! Well, let me tell you it does LOOK good. And that is it. The whole movie was literally 2 hours of silent beautiful scenery... with a few lines said here and there. Barely any music was involved. And there seemed to be no real plot. Just 2 hours of people going about their lives wearing pretty dresses and suits. The only comparatively "exciting" parts were those you already watched in the 2-min trailer. I went to watch it with my sister and she fell asleep after the first 30 mins. Nothing near Pride and Prejudice.
