Note: This review is for the Wii version because it's superior to the other versions and I guarantee at least someone agrees with me.
This game is absolutely a banger. I don't really see many people talk about it when talking about good Wii games and that's a shame because this game is a treat. It expands upon the gameplay of the DS and PS2 versions by adding the rolling mechanic, where maps are more expansive and you can roll around them to collect extra BP or cards lying around the stage to help you or hurt your foes before you land on your card. The graphics look surprisingly nice and the music is a banger. Upgrading your Bakugan is also interesting, as you can increase one of several stats, which adds more strategy. Maybe you'll upgrade your BP so you'll win more often without needing to use gate cards. Or you might upgrade your stamina because the devs thought it would be funny if your stamina stat was a whopping 1 and you can't roll around for more than 2.2 seconds before you lose all your energy.I like how you can choose how your character looks and you can choose your element as well, although you can't play as a female character which sucks for the people who wanted that, although its neat how they added cheat codes you can enter via the player creator name enter thing, I can't remember the last time I played a game that had intentional cheat codes like that. However, this game definitely has its downsides. While rolling around the stage was coined, the battles took a backseat and it kinda shows. The minigames that aren't shaking are just alright, and if you have substantially more BP than the opponent when you both land on the same card, the AI will use all their ability cards and they become stupid easy. The AI is also notorious for constantly missing their roll and it just ends up being your turn again, to the point where I have to watch their roll and not shoot at them unless I want the game to be a complete cakewalk with me just using double stands to win. There's also a huge jump in difficulty from the Aquos tournament to the Subterra tournament, though that might be partly because I chose Ventus as my element. The maps are also hit or miss. Some are great like Aquos while others are Subterra. All in all, Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a very solid game that I would definitely recommend if you have the time.
