I decided to read this book after hearing plenty of hype surrounding it (and because it was on Reese's book club picks). While I do see why people love it, I couldn't get into it myself. The premise of following the trials and tribulations of a 70s rock band through interview style writing was a cool concept, but the story itself is what lacked depth for me. Everything felt like a cliche and the descriptions of Daisy Jones as mysterious, beautiful, and mesmerizing felt very overdone. What really made me dislike the book, however, was the ending. Without giving away any spoilers, I found the revelations at the end of the book to be a bad attempt at tying the story together. It was like the author tried to jam a puzzle piece in a place it did not fit and in a way that completely disagreed with the core personality elements of the characters. This book was just OK.
