Not sure how I feel about this entry into the series. I’ve played up through the first boss. The game feels too linear and it seems to be missing that exploration factor of previous 2D Metroid games. I’m not a fan of the control scheme. The aiming function is very sloppy and hard to knock off precise shots but who knows could be my joycons as well. The emmi encounters so far are quite frankly kind of annoying. The soundtrack seems to be lacking as well in my opinion. I’m not sure what to say. If you are purchasing this game thinking it plays like Super Metroid or Fusion well it definitely does not. Hopefully the game picks up a bit in the later areas but I’m really just not feeling this one.
