Loved the movie and came here to give it 5 stars but decided to read some of the 1 star reviews as I knew many would not grasp the portrayal of literal equality shown in this movie. Though, I don’t think our society could ever reach this level, I found the movie managed to answer all my emerging questions and therefore is worthy of higher stars.
The reason, however, that I choose to give it 4 stars is, as one commenter puts it, that this movie tries to show escapism as the solution rather than communication. The movie does justify Tapsi wanting to get a divorce by showing that she no longer loves her husband and that reason is enough for a divorce (that is why when he finally apologises, it’s still not enough to get back together because you can’t simply fall back in love that easily). I do feel that she fell out of love because of his actions after the slap and not because of the slap for which communication was required. That’s why the 4 stars.
