We saw it today and although my kids (boys 5, 10 & 11 not movie sensitive) seemed to be okay with it, it was not what I expected at all. It was a bit dark, even the animation. It’s about a girl who is depressed after her mom goes away for medical treatment for a seemingly terminal illness. Wonderland, the park (which is never referred to as wonder park) is in her imagination and as she becomes depressed by her mother’s situation and the park is invaded by thousands stuffed chimpanzombies who are destroying her creation and sending it into the ‘darkness’. It’s like the writer had a disturbing dream and turned it into an animated movie. There are a few cute parts but over all it was very bizarre. I spent the who movie waiting for the ‘good part’ or things to click but they never did. I found it inappropriate when the characters said ‘son of a...’ although the character didn’t finish the sentence it was unnecessary. Same happened when a character said flogging in place of the obvious other word. Why?? We paid $5 for our tickets but it was hardly worth it.
