Such a brilliant movie! CODA mainly follows Ruby who's a hearing child of deaf adults. We see how 17 year old Ruby who gave up on attending college and resigned to help out her family with their fishing business. It isn't until her high school music teacher who encourages her to pursue her dreams that she voices her frustrations out loud to her parents. Besides Ruby, we also get her deaf brother and parents' point-of-view; how difficult it is to communicate as our society is very ableist. It's a coming-of-age drama with a couple of funny moments along with emotional ones. One of the best movies I saw in 2021!
