Going into the series after having read the graphic novel, you have to watch it with fresh eyes and review it on its own because the only thing that connects the two are the characters and the general plot. So much was changed and I can understand why in certain areas, the graphic novel was very dark. I give the graphic novel a 10, I couldn’t put it down and I give the series a 9 only because there were parts I wish they hadn’t changed.
