(SPOILER REVIEW) The movie plot does not respect the lore of the video games. In the video game, the characters weren't just given powers. These are skilled fighters that trained for years in order to master certain abilities. It just doesn't make any sense to give earthrealm fighters 'arcanas' when the fighters from other realms aren't given powers. Also, there is no mention of Quan Chi in this movie. He is arguably the most important part of Scorpion returning from the netherealm. Sonya is a skilled gun and hand-to-hand fighter, but apparently she has superhuman abilities now. Subzero was wayy too overpowered in this movie. Cole Young was unnecessary given the vast number of characters in the MK universe. They should have just stuck with Johnny Cage as the main. It just seems that this was a huge cash grab by the people who made this movie. No passion for the story or origins. All blood and gore. No substance. 4/10

The SYRE and ERYS album series are like 2 novels about a dystopian future. SYRE is more emotionally driven by love, while ERYS is more about power and taking control. They are connected in the sense that Syre eventually dies in the sunset and resurrects from the darkness as an alter-ego named Erys. Overall the album is sonically beautiful, upbeat and tells a great story. The album is consistent with quality. His versatility is super impressive. The rock on the album is most likely influenced by the band his his mother Jada Smith played in.
