People are expecting more from the dialogue but this is how some people who are involved with gang/prison life speak. They don’t always speak clearly and use words that you will understand right off the bat. Also some people think that the acting besides Renner is bad, for instance his brother’s and mother’s “fake crying” over Mitch’s death but his brother literally says in the episode that he doesn’t feel sad, he misses him but doesn’t feel sad. Besides these are people who aren’t happy, outgoing, wear your heart on your sleeve type of individuals, they have depressing jobs, and live daunting lives. Do you really think that they are going to ball their eyes out when ANOTHER tragic thing happens, which already happens all the time around them. I think not. Not every aspect of every show is realistic and this is no exception but I think they have done pretty well so far with this one.
