Found actors wholly unlikeable without vulnerability or depth. Might’ve been called the ‘Voiceless Scream’… Having just seen ‘La Piscene’ on a big screen…. In its beautiful splendor, it stood up over time. Rich people behaving badly adding the voiceless Marianne…was disturbing and I almost checked out of watching. All I was left with was Marianne’s voiceless ‘scream’, however she recovered emotionally rather quickly, no? My head still hurts. (I would re-watch Romy Schneider and Maurice Ronet, Birkin and Alain Delon.) Ah, spare me this recent memory of those actors, in ‘Splash’ in predictable roles… Last vignette again, almost laughable. Yes, Ralph is a good actor but this role does demand a bit of charisma to pull off his bluster. (Maybe an Yves Montand? ) I wouldn’t recommend film except to reference the original as a great watch!
