My daughter is being forced to read this book in 6th grade and she hates it and finds it boring, as do her friends. She is reading at a high school level and finds this book infantile, badly written and dull. Why are students being forced to read garbage like this? It's killing her love of reading.

Loved it. It's real, it's funny, it's dark, it makes you think, it's emotional, the acting is superb and there's a dog.
