This movie is horrible. It is single-handedly the worst one I have ever seen in my life. Its premise is solid but the rest of the script is pathetic. How can there be an extra person in a van, especially one transporting prisoners, and no one notices the whole time? The dialogue and scenes were extremely redundant as well. The prisoners in the van were talking about the same things over and over and over again. And save for the intro and ending, which accounted for roughly 6 minutes, the entire movie occurred in the van. In terms of conflict, it was extremely lazy. The first conflict between the prisoner and guards was natural but heavily downplayed. When that ended, they manufactured conflict between the prisoners themselves who all of a sudden turned on each other just because the cops were dead. It just came off as sloppy and incompetent. Additionally, the fact that other police officers waited till morning to get to the scene was just ludicrous. Watching this movie will leave you annoyed at how poorly it is made. Absolutely terrible. I'd put 0 stars if I could.

The first Matrix movie was a blast, and frankly the whole franchise would have been fantastic had they found a way to tell the entire story with just one sequel. This fourth chapter is dragged and presents a desperate move by the producers to capture the intrigue that was in the first one. Trying to retain the two main protagonists (they’ve clearly aged) and changing other characters (i.e. Agent Smith and Morpheus) just makes the movie disharmonious. This is a fourth retelling of the SAME story. This franchise is in a matrix itself.
