As a fan of kpop which is already extremely hated on by many people who do not listen seeing how james cordon talked about Army was rlly upsetting.
The mysoginy behind the idea that young teenage girls are weird for being "obsessed" with boy bands is such an old take and I'm still surprised so many ppl still uphold these views. If I was a teenage boy and a fan of football and I really loved my football team and watched all their stuff I would be normal.
But since I like a singer and keep up with thier content and am female I'm "obsessive, creepy, weird".
All i do is enjoy music and watch the content of artists who I love and find entertaining. I don't see how that is any different than a boy into a sports team.
James Cordons words were so disgusting especially with the context of BTS talking about how much they care for their fans and dislike when they're called "crazy teenage girls". The statement is not only un-true but damaging and makes ppl feel ashamed to like kpop. I personally love the band SEVENTEEN and I felt anger along with Army as it's never nice to feel ashamed of liking kpop (or any band).
Until interviewers can respect the fans of the people they are talking too. They don't deserve those idols on their show.
