So far, I am finding this a solid, no-nonsense biography of Major Harry Larkyns - the mystery man. Some details became public after his death in 1874 and during the murder trial of Eadward Muybridge in 1875, but there really wasn't that much substantive background uncovered till this book. If you wish to know about the 'cipher' Harry Larkyns, here's your sourcebook - as written by a (2x) great-niece of his, Ms. Gowers. I just wish she'd found a photo of him.
