So I saw another reviewer, Patrick, had it right. The first 70 pages are 'eek' and man with wife journey out, for whatever, the wife dies, the husband gets it on with some woman he just me in front of his kids, cuz why not. But for a class, I read the rest, and no, it doesn't get better. I don't understand why I need such in-depth recounts of perversions on a personal level. I mean it offers that extra level of sickness your standard textbook may skip on, but definitely not something I'd recommend as a casual read unless you need it for whatever your reasoning is. It gives a lot of the dirty, nasty, and evil of medieval times, but for me personally, due to my cultural background, I already knew.
