*SPOILERS* Game started off great, the visuals were stunning, the explanation of the remains of the first game. Even after the quick and uncharacteristic death of one the most beloved characters in the history of video games. I was still fine because I honestly assumed that the game would revolve around Ellie. Even the Ellie gameplay wasn't that bad, the new characters were alright and the sexuality issue wasn’t that bad. I liked that there was a mutual hatred for the killer of Joel between me and the main character. What really pains me is the second half of the game. Why the *** would I want to play with a character I really don’t like, I don’t care about her side of the story or “how good of a person she is”. I hate the idea that the ANTAGONIST of the game is getting so much attention. The gameplay of the second half was admittedly better than that of the first in my opinion, with the better selection of guns it was more fun. But, that doesn’t justify making half of the game pointless, I spent the second half making food during cutscenes and hoping to go back to the real protagonist of the game. The ending sucks. I would rather see one of the main characters die than neither. It makes the whole first game pointless and the whole second game pointless. It’s like watching star wars but instead everybody dies accept Darth Vader and Luke, it just makes no sense to me. I didn’t really think this game deserved all the hate until about 3/4 of the way through the game and then I finally understood. If you liked the last game (like me), I am deeply sorry that this is the follow up that was received. I hope this game series dies off and doesn’t get a stupid Abby spin-off like in Uncharted.
