Overall a pretty good read however I have some mixed opinions. Before reading you should take a minute to review a few things: 1. are you white? and 2. are you an insecure and probably racist *sshole? This book leaves nothing back when critiquing gentrification and well white people. I actually really enjoyed the drastic point of view difference between not only me(a white person) but the two main characters(black female and white male). The largest problem I have with this book is how long it takes for something remotely spooky or mysterious to occur. The first semi-scary incident occurs 150 pages in... I don't know what books you're reading but dam that's long. Those first 150 pages aren't bad or boring however they just don't hold any thriller/mystery type feel. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book especially the last 1/3 of it where the plot really picked up. I will admit I was not expecting a few plot twists that were thrown in there and revived the book. I'm new to reading more slow-paced adult novels since I'm younger however I would mildly suggest this book to others.

Average book with nothing extremely special. I did feel like the ending was extremely predictable however I really enjoyed this take on death and the afterlife. A short but enjoyable read.

Honestly not worth the hype. The ending/twist just felt like something I would have written in my 7th grade English class. I didn't like the way the book was written as well since the author would bring up the family's wealth at every given second. I could only get halfway through. Reading this book became a chore. Overall there are much better books out there that are worth the time and hype.

I'm going to have to agree with the reviews below me. I have read my fair share of murder mysteries(The Cheerleaders, They Wish They Were Us) where the lonely girl has decided to look back into an old case from her town and finds some sketchy stuff. However, this is my favorite by far. In the others I have read I had the true killer on my radar the second they were introduced into the story. In A Good Girls Guide To Murder I wasn't really sure if I was correct on my choice however I ended up being right anyways :) This is strange because usually when I finish a book and I was right the whole time I'm pissed however for this one I wasn't. I still really enjoyed the ride and the twists and turns. I like the main character and her friends aren't too obnoxious which is hard to find in a book about teenagers. I strongly suggest reading this book if you like the classic piecing the puzzle together type of story since it's one of the better if not the best one I have read.
