I never read the books. Bu,t although I am enjoying the series, why not just kill Fanning? He seems to be at the root of all their chaos.

While I enjoy the series, there are some inherently bad decisions made by the characters that shouldn't happen. Example walking on an alien surface in inclimant weather with bad visibility - untethered to each other and or your craft. No astronaut would do this. This is fantasy fiction though.
