I wanted to give this 3.5 stars, but it doesn't allow it. So, let me start by saying that I'm only through the third episode. But so far, I don't think it's a bad as a lot of these reviews say it is.
That being said... I wouldn't have chosen The Weekend for the leading male role. He's not the strongest actor, and there's a lot of over acting going on with his role. I think Lilly-Rose Depp does a pretty good job. I don't think she needs to be naked all the time. I understand that they want her to be sexy, but she already is! The supporting cast does a great job, especially the actress that plays Leia, Jocelyn 's assistant.
So after the third episode, I'm still trying to figure out what the writers are trying to do with the story. Either make it a Euphoria type show, or focus on the struggling performer storyline. They might be trying to do too much here at one time.
But that's my review up to now without going into and giving away the story. I might post a second review after I finish the series. I say give it a try for yourself and decide if it's for you or not.
