I first read it as a teen, however, it was several years later in my 20's that I read it again, arrogantly thinking I knew the book. Second time it was captivating! The 19th century language slows you down and gives you time to think about every line, I felt immersed in a way few modern day books can do. I'm in my 50's now and still love this book, I'd thoroughly recommend it.
