(SPOILER) I don't know how to express how I feel about the movie... really mixed emotions.
I loved the movie for itself - all 22 of them actually. Thru the years I enjoyed waiting for the next movie opening and enjoy re-watching the past ones. It has been a part of our lives for 11 years. So for the saga to end leaves my heart heavy.
I do applaud how the directors, producers, and writers were able to wrap everything up the way they did - full circle. I loved how the families were reunited... i felt sad for those who perished because it means we no longer get to see them. However, the way they passed on was very fitting and dignified:
Iron Man / Tony Stark: who matured from a self-centered extremely smart billionaire to the struggling hero who cared but did not want to admit. Pepper's words of "We're okay." - giving him permission to let go knowing how much he truly cared and gave of himself. It was also wonderful how he was able to meet his father and know first hand that he was loved.
Black Widow / Natasha Romanova: giving up her life so that Hawkeye can have a chance to be with his family again. She, who grew up alone, finally had her family and her sacrifice was not in vain.
Captain America / Steve Rogers: he finally had his dance with the love of his life, Peggy Carter. Having devoted his life as the perfect soldier, always saving the world, it was nice that he was able to get an alternate ending where he thought of himself first for once.
My heart is also heavy as I will no longer be able to get a glimpse of Stan Lee's cameos. It is fitting that the saga ends here with his last appearance.
It is always sad to see an era end. I felt this way too when Woody's person, Andy (Toy Story), left for college. It took me a while to get over that... I expect it will take me longer to recover this time around.
So kudos to all involved in the MCU. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you 3000.
