I started watching Speak For Yourself several months ago. I enjoy the fact that the black cast speak in cultural terms and phrases that are familiar to me. I am a black man and can connect with themes and images of the show and how commentators can integrate that into a sports language. What really highlights SFY is Uncle Jimmy. I think Uncle Jimmy adds context to the show and reminds people in the black community of all of those wise black people who may not speak perfect English but their meaning is always clear. I look forward to Uncle Jimmy. His Michael Jackson, Cam Newton, and Macho Man impersonation were great.
