I used to love this game, but unfortunately I'd have to say that ESO has been on a bit of a downward spiral since OneTamriel.
I still play a little when I get time, but the issues are really beginign to build up again, and no fixes in sight.
The same old bugs raise their ugly heads each update, even sometimes each patch day.
(Oh and patch day is Monday each week, inconveniently throughout the whole afternoon if you live in Europe, sometimes extending 8 hours into night - it's not uncommon to be locked out of the game for hours at a time.
Any bug that makes it into live-mode is ignored completely for at least a full week, sometimes rendering entire classes / playstyles totally void. Also we rarely get any feedback on the forums about intended action or potential fixes.
You can't remain in sneak when opening doors or looting....great for those who play stealthily!! 2nd week this bug has been in game without any response from developers.
Since Elswery PVP has been almost impossible to play for any length of time, with huge lag and mass disconnections.
Trade guilds can't see any of their trade history making them impossible to manage.
Skill-bars are locking out, making you a sitting target in PVP...if you manage to stay online for long enough that is.
I'd say in all honesty that if you just enjoy playing casually, there is a lot to explore and experience in ESO. If you prefer end game, PVP or PVE, i'd give it a miss.
There are a couple of free weekends where anyone can sign up and play, try one of those 1st maybe.
