I wouldn't describe myself as a hey-go-mad fan of Paw Patrol, but, yes, I am quite fond of the series; so when I found out they had unleashed a movie, I didn't really expect it to be all that good, but the trailer caught my attention and I decided to give it a try.
I didn't expect it to blow my mind out of the window and all the way to San Fransisco. (Ps. I have no idea how San Fransisco got into that phrase. Anyway -)
(RED ALERT: SPOILERS)
This movie is definitely one of the best things that has ever happened to me and is undoubtedly the Movie of the Year for me. I've always wanted the TV series to have a tad more action, so this movie was like a dream come true. The animations are so adorable, so real (If you've watched the series you might have noticed some stuff don't look or come out very realistic) and sooooo good (Hats off!). Plus, the characters here have emotions and are more...natural (I hope you get what I mean).Personally, I prefer these characters to the original. I really love all the humour (Particularly that scene where, in a moment of irony, Rocky asks, "Green does still mean go, right?" from someone who's wearing RED; when Liberty said "rush hour", I was half-expecting Rubble to pipe up with, "Where's the rush?") The voice-acting is off-the-charts. There is a sense of urgency and high stakes and good songs. The vehicles are SO COOL. I fell in love with this months ago and I still haven't recovered.
Chase is my favourite pup out of the entire patrol, and I enjoyed finding out about his background (I swear his eyes were larger than the average tennis ball and he was SO SMALL!!) though poignant. I've always wondered where he came out of, and now I finally have the answers (THANK YOU!).
Of course we've got Humdinger wrecking trouble (SOMEONE please do me a favour and tell that humdinger of a dunderhead that the only headlines he ever had were the frown-lines on his forehead!) with his senseless-ness - but they FINALLY arrest him in this one. I threw a party when that happened. At long last.
I particularly love all the tension of the subway-crisis. So satisfying. Chase's Leap of Faith is amazing in a class of its own.
This movie is a great one that all the family can enjoy. I've watched it over and over again and it never gets old. I definitely recommend it. I rated it five stars because that's the maximum they let you give....which is probably for the best because otherwise, I wouldn't have known where to stop.
