The Girl

Definitely surpassed my expectations. First off casting, excellent character portrayal across the board I mean it's beautifully done. Henry as Geralt is a perfect choice it's difficult to imagine other actors playing that particular character. Even secondary characters such as Dandelion are right on the mark! Secondly plot. The producers chose to pick certain stories from the books but they do an amazing job piecing them together to set up the history of the world and characters. If you're expecting something exactly from the games you might be slightly disappointed. Also the plot starts at the very beginning of the books/games and jumps back and forth between past events and the "present" but you never get too confused about what's happening when, how or why. If you're new to the franchise you get a decent picture painted of the world as well. You can however get confused from time to time about the political aspects of the show, especially with past wars or kingdoms. Also the conjunction of the spheres and other important historical events that explain keys parts of the witcher universe are rarely mentioned and when they are it's in an obscure manner where its seems like the audience is already suppose to know about it. My only complaint so far. Even a hard core fan like myself sometimes had to pause the show and google or fact check some details. So as a newcomer expect a very broad explaining of the world. For people who read the books and played the games however it's like getting xmas early. Thirdly cinematics. The show is gorgeous and insane on attention to detail for everything from the costumes down to the environments. The only semi bad visuals are the cgi monsters but even those aren't so bad. The characters all look stunning and true to what they would like in the real world, live action etc. Some viewers may notice that Triss Merigold does not look like her video game version but other than that most characters are on point. Lastly the fight scene choreography does not disappoint in the slightest. From Geralt fighting monsters to humans battling in war it all looks spectacular. Overall I loved the series and look forward to more seasons sooner rather than later. I 100% recommend watching this show and giving it a try whether you're a witcher fan or new to this all together. 10/10.
