Impeachable Offense
The constitution of the United States was establish to form a government to "form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and...". The president is forgoing his duty to uphold the constitution when he threatens to withhold government services that promotes the welfare of the people just because congress will not fund his favorite project, the building of the border wall. President Trump is assuming dictatorial powers which are contradictory to the constitution that he swore to uphold; thus he has committed a serious crime. Though he has the constitutional power to veto congressional decree, to threaten congress to act to please his views on a bill that is necessary to maintain the welfare of the citizens by causing a shutdown of the government, he has committed a violent crime against the people.
The republican leadership continues to support the president's desire to have dictatorial powers and they are a complicit in denying the welfare of the people with their extreme partisan support. Where is the leadership that Americans deserve to insure the safeguard of their freedom? The republican leaders believe that the Republican Party has priority over the welfare of the people that elected them. Why are we Americans allowing this to occur?
Please Mr. McConnell, be an American first, the president is upsetting the freedom of the people. He may declare that the wall will provide the security that he must provide, but that is his opinion. With the shut down of government services, he has weakened security services that are already in force and effective and all the data on immigration contradicts his viewpoint.
In order to uphold the constitution, IT IS CONGRESS' DUTY TO IMPEACH DONALD TRUMP.
