If your a tom hanks fan or a Daniel crage fan you have to see this film. This film has totally gone under my radar. How am I watching this film 20 years later. I went through a gangsta film phase and this did not come up. The scene in the rain where beautifully shot. Just like you where in a moving art gallery. The camera work captur how beautiful grity and dirty the 1930s was. From the get go you know you are in 1930s America. I feel like there maybe a change in the gard half way though. The first half of the film was very beautifully shot with the close ups and the camera angles. The second half was to be expected and nothing overly amazing. The film is well lit and you can see what your ment to see and not see what your not meant to see nothing crazy. A little grainy to make it look "olden timey" I would definitely recommend this if you like gangsta films that are not over the top. You are not going to get crazy 1930s accent or over the top shoot outs. But man this is a good story and overall a good film to watch

The acting is probably the stand out part of this film. You can see in all the actors faces they they love there job and they know how to do there job well. You can see why many of the actors in this film whent on to do so well. They are masters of there craft. The fight scenes where amazingly put together and thought out incredibly well I think the second biggest part of this film i loved the most was the camera work. All of the shots in this film were amazing the dramatic close up to the action packed wide angles that let you see so much more then what is going on. Most of the time the actors feel like ants with how much of the amazingly looking backgrounds there are. The story is where this film lets me down a little slow and a little boring for me I didn't feel like it was well put together and the dramatic parts didn't feel like they had the effect they needed. Its like going to the top of a roller coaster and then coming down at the same speed you went up at. I just felt like it didn't hit me like a good love story should. Yes watch this film its very good and very impressive and a lot of people in front and behind the camera put in a lot of hard work and it shows. But would I watch it again probably not.
