Is it allright I was a bit underwhelmed by Dune? As one of my favourite books as a teenager I was a bit “meh” about the movie. Visually and immersively, it’s a treat! But the characters and their relationships are totally wooden. You don’t feel anything about the family downfall. And the problem with a massive sci-fi world like this so you have to explain all bits which works in the book gloriously, but it means the script needs exposition all of time, which they didn’t manage too badly, but it steals screen-time from the emotional journey. Can only give it 3-star. I think the Dune saga would have been better suited to a blockbuster Netflix series, like Game of Thrones.
