Very sublty derivative, and thus maintains the feel of the first film - and a satisfying sense of nostalgia - without ever feeling like a rehash. The acting, writing and pacing were spot on, the set pieces and animation were enthralling and beautifully done, and the songs were very pleasant and memorable.
I can’t help but feel that Julie Andrews should have made the appearance she was offered. All the cameos here felt natural and left me with a smile on my face, and Blunt’s performance was far too solid to be overshadowed.
Practically perfect in every way - 4.5/5
