When I first picked up the book, I didnt know I was going to be holding back my tears like a litte child when I got to the final page. Khalid's writing is simple, as a matter of fact. He tells a story that sounds so personal yet it just might not be. Laila and Mariam, trying to wrestle down a system that opresses them, is why you'll be clinging on to the book even when the clock tell you to go to bed. For sure. In an uneventful twist of events, Laila, whose life should never have ended up the way it did, ends up living off with Mariam, whos life was a much bigger mess. Also, you'll definately love Babi❤. Best of luck, as you set on to savour a book that will leave you heart-wretched.
