I am in awe of Mammooty being 71 years of age he is extremely fit. His acting is outstanding and the director has handled the topic of transmigration amazingly. To present this topic in such a humorous way is so creative and speaks volume of a dexterous and fluid mind. God bless the team for giving us such a masterpiece. Each and every scene is credit worthy. I was glued to the very end and I just could not contain my tears. It’s done so fluidly and effortlessly. I loved the movie through the entire gamut of emotions and the vastness of life. Thanks a lot again. One of the best movies I have ever seen so clear and pristine and pure.

I was so excited that Gold is Alphonse Puthran’s movie but was left deeply anguished because it fell short at various levels which I will be enumerating. Before I go into that I would like to state the positives which was the endearing relationship between Prithviraj and his doting mother and the brilliant performance by all the actors cast as the police personnel. Had it not been for these individuals the movie would have tanked completely. It was because of the works of the brilliant actors that I was able to watch the movie fast forwarding to only those delightful scenes with the story line intact. The second factor was the reunion of most of the Premam cast, to see them all as sweet as I remember them. Now on to the negatives. 1) The shoddy editing, experimentation all gone hay wire. 2) The sketchy stories trying to weave in and out of the main story line without flowing or blending in. 3) The songs which looked like fillers masquerading as a promotion for Instagram influencers and promos for reels and shorts with no intrinsic value to the movie plot. The steps were just a repeat of one step and beat which looked badly rehearsed. 4) The total absence of innocence which is the ethos of a Alphonse movie. I was totally aghast at the end of the movie because I expected a well rounded and formulated movie. Instead it looked very sketchy and half baked. Better luck Alphonse. I patiently await a near to perfection like Premam, if not better, which I can watch umpteen number of times and feel uplifted.

This review is for Sir. Tovino Thomas. Seeing that you are venturing into enacting sexual scene, I humbly advice you with all humbleness to kindly see each movement and act is tastefully delivered. What you enacted was only a sense of urgency to complete the act just like any male person, especially an Indian who is not free and fluid. You have to bring in more fluidity and a sense of abandon to the act. I found it bordering on vulgarity. I expected a lot from you because of your inherent talent. But you need to improve many times over. I had to fast forward the scenes as it was not tastefully or aesthetically done. All the best. I hope if Indian movies especially South Indian ones are venturing into the actual act, amble care and effort has to be taken that the act is not vulgar or urgent, as is true testimony to most of Indian males. The aesthetics have to be concentrated next time. In one of the Malayalam movies I don’t remember which you did play out a desperate husband and therefore that act was appropriate. But in this movie it had to be sensual. I am sorry to be speaking of this aspect because I do not want your talent marred by the lack of aesthetic sensibility. All the best. You are one of the upcoming actors in the south and you have to be at par with international stars, as I see you being blessed by talent and skill. Only a little more effort needed. God bless.

Although I do not like any religious representation on the tv, due to which I was not going to watch the serial. I went ahead as the spirit prompted me to and I was not the least disappointed. Every actor has done so wonderfully. Especially the priest. I am amazed how he has got all the gestures, genuflections, ritual intonations delivered perfectly. Even the hymns chosen is so perfectly divine. Congrats to the creators of the show. I lived my Catholic life through this serial. Such a perfect capture of the faith. Although the story line is totally something else but I loved that the director has stuck to the rituals perfectly because I thought it would be a very shoddy work as I have seen in many other serials and movies which I have witnessed before. God bless for such a treat.

A poignant coming of age series which enlightened me as a viewer I too am wasting away in the world of media. I don’t live my life as fully as I can because all the time I am being distracted by serials and movies and you tube presentations and Twitter and many numerous forums. This was the straw to say on the camels back. I am in the process of renouncing outside medium all together and seeing what else is better. As of now I am living my life as in an art movie. So I don’t know if I can totally renounce the medium of the media in the various forms of illusions that is available to me which I choose to lose myself in. Woe to me and to all those immersed in this chimera losing life and not living it to the full. It’s the actors and the situations hat we are living quasi and in a derogatory manner. Totally useless lives we all lead. Sad and utterly useless and neatly sums up in NETI NETI NETI.
