Hands-down one of the most brilliant pieces of suspense-literature I have ever read; and as a university professor, I have read many. Each unfolding "clue" made my jaw drop, and when I finished I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT IHAD JUST LEARNED.. So I flipped back to the beginning and began reading; this time taking notes Auerbach reminds me of a young Dan Simmons; pure horror at the unknown.
