My favorite guilty pleasure. Usually, there's a sort of inhibition you'd have for watching romcoms that are just a bit older, since they age in a way that would make you cringe. However, there's an earnestness to the acting that really keeps you drawn in, and the actors are top notch for such over-the-top characterizations. It almost seems like they're doing /too/ well for the characters they were cast as, especially the two main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and I've done so three times already!! This show is not world changing, in any sense, but handles an underdog, wash-out main character having to have to rebuild herself in a world she was thoroughly rejected from. It's incredibly cheesy, but manages to retain a lot of self-respect for our lovely MC and a very spectacular fall of our charismatic, overly zealous love interest. Even the second love interest plays a respectful role, and the plot doesn't spat on his own character development nor leave him in the dust. Any person who has the heart to go back and watch oldies like the Hong Sister's My GF is a Gumiho or Sassy Girl Choon Hyang, will probably be able to stomach the corny 2011 feel of the show. But trust me when I say, the actors really cinch this performance, making it incredibly heart felt and touching. The experience is one that really got me through a rough patch in my life, and sometimes you need to be able to let go of your pride or supposed inhibitions and just enjoy the show.
