Despite the lukewarm and negative reviews at the time of its release, this movie stands up to the test of time because of its historical interest. To see John Hodiak with his quiet dignity and singular ability to portray a rounded character in a restricted role and a nice little ensemble of good actors from the days of black and white is worth the hour and a half or so for the "fun" climax. I recommend it for all movie buffs who enjoy watching a film their grandmothers watched on a Saturday matinee.
