Overall great show! A very fun watch. Loved so many relationship dynamics (especially Mare and her mother) and loved Kate Winslet as this character; she killed it. I also love a murder mystery and well-done crime show and though this was no exception, it certainly wasn't perfect. There were a few plot holes that were frustrating for me, especially because in a show with this kind of acclaim, I was expecting 0 plot holes; so every time I found one I was left thinking "I must have misunderstood ___" then going back to verify and realizing it wasn't just me; not the BEST viewing experience. Even without the plot holes, I was often frustrated by the twists and turns that either materialized to be nothing or were quickly learned to be completely false. These ended up feeling like cheap ways to get cliff hangers at the end of an episode, then just explained away in the matter of a scene in the next. This made watching the show feel more like a rollercoaster (purposeful misdirection for the thrill) rather than a truly compelling murder mystery. In the end, I still give it 4 stars because honestly, I love a rollercoaster too. The final twist I found to be deeply satisfying; it explained away MOST of the frustrations I had and kept me engaged through the end. So despite poking some holes, I did enjoy the show and would recommend the watch.
