i watched it today and i would say it is a good film without being great. some of the scenes are top drawer like the village with the gypsies where hutter spends the night along with some scenes in the town as the film progresses. but a lot of the film seems just too intense. sometimes less is more. my big gripe is count orlok.he is a bit different in appearance and while the previous versions he was creepy and subtle here is totally repulsive and dare i say a vile creature. there is nothing seductive aboutthis count. as someone that grew up with the hammer films, frank langella and the first version of salems lot this comes up a bit short. the soundtrack is good and i may invest in the viny version if it is available. if i had the choice of seeing this again or watching the klaus kinski version i would plump for the latter.now that is a 5 star film in my humble opinion.
