I am a Kevin Smith fan. Haven't seen a couple of his newest movies, but everything from Clerks through Jay and Silent Bob are great films. I've even seen Kevin Smith live at a kind of Q&A couch chat thing he did back in 2009. I had been considering going to see this live when he came nearby in February, and despite me planning on that, I got convinced to watch this with my friend at his house.
I'm very happy I did, because this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Had I paid $35 for the live show, I would have asked Kevin Smith, in person, for my money back. I was offended that my friend paid for this film, and I was offended Kevin Smith wanted to charge me $35 to see this. I would have gone to see it just to see him and Jason mewes, but I would have felt ripped off and offended even more had I gone. I'm still thinking of going to see it just to ask him for it back once I see it, although this would be unbelievably rude of me, just to show my displeasure to him personally, as a fan of his art.
This really is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm going to do a write up on why, but pretty much everything in this movie is terrible, from the writing to the camera work and to how the image actually looks and sounds (cheap). Do not pay to see this, it is offensive that he charged for this.
I'm still a Kevin Smith fan, and I'll try to see you in person the next time I can, but I won't come see you by paying to see this film, because this was terrible and I won't support this film any more than I the money I split with my friend to buy it on DVR already.
Don't see this movie, because if he can get away with charging for this trash, he'll think it's acceptable from his fans, and maybe do it again. It's NOT acceptable, as a fan, to charge me for this. Laughably unfunny, cheap, and overall and felt like a rip off.
